Søren Salomo, professor and director of DTU Business, has received the prestigious Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) Best Paper Award 2009.
Professor Søren Salomo recived this award for his paper "What About Design Newness? Investigating the Relevance of a Neglected Dimension of Product Innovativeness".
Members of the JPIM Editorial Board and the PDMA Board of Directors cast votes to select the finalists and determine the overall winner, based on contribution to new product development practice and thought. The research conducted by Søren and his colleagues investigates the impact of technological and design newness on new product sales over the product lifecycle. By assessing all new car models introduced in the German automotive market over the past 30 years, they show significant positive, but time-lagged, sales effects for product innovativeness.
It is the second time since 2007 that Søren has been awarded the JPIM Best Paper Award. This puts Søren in the exclusive company of the very few international researchers that have received this prestigious recognition of their research more than once.
