InnoHospital - Investigating Innovation Management at Hospitals

This research project aims at mapping current innovation management practice at hospitals. To establish innovation performance of hospitals, a comprehensive list of new product and service offerings as well as new processes at different levels of hospital operations introduced between 2007 and 2009 has been developed. Innovation intensity of individual hospitals is measured against this list. Based on a comprehensive framework of innovation management, which integrates corporate and project level elements of innovation management, successful practices at hospitals are identified. Currently, 108 German hospitals, with information from more than 400 respondents, have disclosed their innovation management practices and performance.
