Technology Transfer Between European Firms and Chinese Partners

An emerging innovation paradigm recognizes that superior innovation performance results in the opening up of innovation strategies, which explore and absorb external knowledge sources and remain flexible in outsourcing internal technologies to external partners. Given the strong economic roles of Europe and China, the technology tranfer between these two regions is of great importance to understand the underlying mechanisms of open innovation business models. More specifically, it is worthy to investigate the needs of and to identify the discrepancy between both European firms and Chinese firms with respect to technology transfer.

/upload/centre/tem/images/business/eu-ball-150.jpgWe surveyed hundreds of technology-oriented innovative companies in Benelux area across various industries. This survey study will bring us detailed information on the issues such as firm size effects, perception of the usefulness of IP protection, the effectiveness of IP regimes in EU and China, the role of intermediaries for bridging the technology transfer between European companies and Chinese partners.
