DTU Business establish the Healthcare Innovation Leadership Network

DTU Business has initiated a transverse Danish network for health innovation at top management level.

For several years DTU Business has experienced great success with its unique Innovation Leadership program, in cooperation with Stanford University and UC Berkeley, targeting managers at the top level in the Danish health and life-science sector. The program has particularly gained its success by having a clear focus on concrete learning processes related to real-life innovation leadership challenges, as well as the participation of top leaders from across regions, municipalities, hospitals, universities and private enterprises within the health sector.

The diverse cross-functional representation of top  level managers on the program during the years, has resulted in a highly influential alumni group of more than 150 key stakeholders from the Danish health sector. The participants have all gone through the same intensive education process at DTU Business and in US with focus on Innovation Leadership and innovative projects within the health sector.  This way, they have all acquired common references, frameworks and experiences.

On this backdrop, DTU Business has established the Healthcare Innovation Leadership Network as a formalized network for former program participants. Activities will focus on practical inspiration and the continuous development of leadership competences for executing transversal innovation activities addressing the systematical challenges that confront healthcare provisioning at societal level. The ambition is to widen and raise the level of innovation throughout the health field, ensuring optimal resource utilization and real measurable results in terms of improved efficiency, quality, learning, technology and business potentials.

The network will offer inspiring seminars and workshops, and serve as a knowledge-sharing and execution platform. DTU Business is already acting as a platform for selected innovation projects such as Big Data, advanced analysis and AI in the health sector. In addition to UC Berkeley and Stanford University, there has also been established collaboration with other prominent universities and health centers internationally, focusing on health innovation and operational optimization. Actions of this type, with strategic and innovative value, will also provide value to the Healthcare Innovation Leadership Network.
